MEP Visits TSG Herd (Richard Lutwyche, 9th September 2011)
Julie Girling, Conservative MEP for the SW area, today spent over two hours today at John & Helen Lightfoot's Hartpury (Glos) farm learning about the special qualities of the breed and their produce. John & Helen were among the first to qualify for TSG status for their pedigree GOS pork and bacon. Mixed Fortunes at Club's Show & Sale (Richard Lutwyche, 7th August 2011)
The annual Show & Sale at Cirencester Market took place yesterday (Sat 6th Aug) with fears about the saleability of the numbers of pigs entered with the climate as it is. Some of those fears were justified with a shortage of buyers but on the whole, the event was a success with the Champion pig making 460gns and some other good stock going to new homes.
