GOS Pig

Congratulations to Peggy Darvill

At this week's Hatfield House Country Show, Club member, Peggy Darvill from Dorset, won the BPA's competition for Young Pig of the Year (female) with her gilt, Toller Muriel 541. The competition included qualifiers from all the major shows in the country selected from pigs of all breeds born this year. Of 11 qualifiers forward, judge Stephen Hull chose this very smart gilt as his best female. She then went head to head with the top boar and won Reserve Young pig of the Year with the Large Black boar taking top spot. This is the first time since the competition began that a GOS has won either heat and we look forward to seeing how this gilt fares as a sow in years to come. Well done Peggy!
